Maybe it's Mob noticing him, then turning his attention elsewhere. Regardless, there's a part of Robby that becomes disheartened, ashamed, feelings that slip through the bond--who is he to start throwing himself at Mob like this after he pushed him away? Mob's right, really, to put him aside. It's not different from what Robby's doing to him.
He starts to pull away, and grabs his own omni to message Miss Makima. Even if Mob doesn't want him, or need him--Robby can still make sure he stays safe.
